Annual General Meeting 2026

On Sunday, March 15th 2026, the association “Krämereimuseum Gerstlhaus” invited its members to the annual general meeting in the Gerstlhaus, in order to carry out a review of the past and a preview of the already current annual events as well as the new election of the association’s board in accordance with the statues. The board, which has been active for several years, happily stood for re-election, only the cashier Mrs. Mathilde Grasböck resigned from her active function at her own request. Mrs. Sabine Winkler could be won for these tasks, and since there were no objections or other candidates, the proposed board was accepted by the members present and unanimously elected. The old and new chairman Ernst Winkler thanked Mrs. Grasböck very warmly for her long-standing and conscientious cooperation and also invites anyone who would like to become a part of our Gerstlhaus team to contact us.

After this election, the Gerstlhaus can start again full of enthusiasm in the coming years!

Gerstlhaus live on radio in Freistadt

After “Freie Radio Freistadt”, the local radio station in Freistadt, Upper Austria, broadcasted a concert of Ensemble Castor in May, the Gerstlhaus followed the invitation for being presented within the radio broadcast of “Mühlviertler Museumstraße”. In the morning of October 7th, we proceeded to Freistadt and, after a short introduction, we went live. Wilhelm Hochreiter acted as the host of the broadcast series. It was a real pleasure to us and we had great fun with it. We look forward to coming back!

A trip into the past

In 2008, as part of a scholarship for outstanding pupils, school children of the secondary school HS Reichenthal created a radio report about the Gerstlhaus museum. This project was coordinated by senior teacher Gabriele Latzko, who designed texts, that were recorded in the museum with additional music and sounds.

The project was implemented by Hildegard Griebl-Shehata, manager of the radio division at Medienwerkstatt Linz and published on July 1st 2008. The broadcast received an honorary certificate by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Eduaction, Science and Research for reaching the final at the Media Literacy Award 2008.
